Sunday October 2nd, the Kick It for Kevin kickball tournament will be held from 12-6pm on West Quad Fields. The tournament is sponsored by Sorin College. The event will cost $3 per person, with teams of 5-10 people. Even if you can't get a team together, still sign up by yourself or with a few friends and we will find a team for you. Teams can register at North and South dining halls from 4:30-7:30pm on Wednesday the 28th, Friday the 30th and Saturday the 1st as well as the day of the event until 3:30PM. Teams can also register at by donating the appropriate amount ($3 x number of players or just each person individually donating $3). All proceeds from this event will go to the Cure Search Children's Cancer Research Fund.
Kevin Healey was a member of the Sorin College class of 2011 and an incredibly enthusiastic member of the Notre Dame family. His courageous battle with cancer began during his years at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland and ended April 24, 2009 as a sophomore at Notre Dame. He was a fun-loving Sorin Otter who never missed a chance to be as goofy as possible, so a silly kickball tournament is the perfect event to honor him. Trophies will be awarded to the winning team but also to the best-dressed and most spirited teams! In the spirit of things we will also have snacks and juice boxes available. The event will take place rain, shine, or thunder. In case of thunder, the tournament will move to the Stepan Center/Stepan Fields.
